Former Manipur Speaker and Minister Irengbam Hemochandra participated in the rally, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts among northeastern states to address shared challenges. Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, was also present, highlighting the role of the northeastern states in shaping India’s socio-economic and cultural landscape. Maharaj Pradyot Manikya of Tripura joined the gathering, urging stakeholders to prioritize sustainable development, regional identity, and youth empowerment.
The rally featured speeches, discussions, and cultural performances showcasing the diverse heritage of the northeastern region. Leaders stressed the need for stronger inter-state cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development, while also focusing on maintaining peace, social harmony, and political stability across the region.
Earlier speaking to the media at Agartala Airport, I. Hemochandra said that events like the Thansa Rally provide a platform for the northeastern states to present a unified voice and address issues ranging from border concerns to regional representation in policymaking. He called for constructive dialogue and cooperation among all northeastern states to ensure the progress and prosperity of the region.
Organizers said that the rally is part of a broader initiative to strengthen regional networks, encourage cultural exchange, and build consensus on development policies. The participation of political leaders from multiple states was seen as a positive step toward fostering solidarity and addressing long-standing concerns collectively.
