100 Aganwadi Workers trained under Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi

To ensure that every child receives possible care, education and nutrition under the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi programme, the Kakching District Administration in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services Cell Kakching organised a three-day training programme for Aganwadi workers at the Library and Information Centre. The training programme which began on 6th of this month for the first batch consisting of 100 Aganwadi workers was concluded today.
Altogether, 362 Aganwadi workers will be trained under four batches with a mission to empower the Aganwadi workers for effective delivery of the initiatives. The second batch of training for 100 Aganwadi workers will begin from 18th till 20th August, 2025, third batch of 100 Aganwadi workers will be trained from 25th to 27th August, 2025 and 62 Aganwadi workers will undergo training from 28th to 30th August, 2025.
During the month-long training programme, the participating Anganwadi workers are taught on the importance of nutrition and the vital role of the training in enhancing the delivery of Poshan services. They are encouraged to approach the training with dedication and enthusiasm to contribute effectively to the health and well-being of children and women in the area.
The training focuses on aspects such as Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), proper distribution of supplementary nutrition,and addressing issues such as Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Anaemia among beneficiaries. Aganwadi workers are trained to provide holistic care to children while ensuring that their nutritional needs are met through the Poshan project’s initiatives.
Trainings are also given on two curriculum frameworks, namely ‘Aadharshila’ – ECCE which focus on children aged three to six years and ‘Navchetana’ – ECCE for children from birth to three years to empower the Anganwadi workers and ensure optimal learning for all children, including special focus on Divyang (differently abled) children in every activity.
The training programme was conducted by Ningthoujam Parango Singh, Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Project (Kakching) of Social Welfare Department. 18 Supervisors imparted training to the Aganwadi workers, with support staff including Inspectors, among others, for successful conduct of the training programme.
