Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, chaired a series of review meetings today at the Conference Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal, to assess the progress and administrative functioning of various government departments. The departments that presented their reports included the Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services (V&AH), Transport Department, and the Directorate of Ayush under the Health Services.
During separate sessions, the Administrative Secretaries of the departments gave detailed presentations on the developmental works and ongoing initiatives under their respective jurisdictions.
The Secretary of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services highlighted efforts to conserve the indigenous Manipuri Pony, a culturally significant and endangered breed. Conservation strategies and support mechanisms for preserving this unique animal were presented as a priority for the department.
The Secretary of Transport briefed the Governor on steps being taken to enforce traffic rules and ensure a safer and more efficient road transport system in the state. He also discussed the current infrastructure of District Transport Offices and recommended improvements for better service delivery. The session also included updates on the construction of helipads across various districts, aimed at enhancing connectivity in remote and hill areas.
Meanwhile, the Director of Ayush presented a comprehensive overview of the initiatives to promote Ayush as an alternative healthcare system in the state. He stressed the need to strengthen Ayush infrastructure to ensure wider reach and more effective healthcare delivery, particularly in rural and underserved regions.
Governor Bhalla appreciated the initiatives being taken up by the departments and acknowledged their contributions to public welfare and state development. He urged officials to continue working with dedication and to focus on enhancing the impact of their efforts for the greater benefit of the people of Manipur.
