NEC releases Yearbook 2025, sanctions over Rs 6.19 Crore for Manipur Projects in May

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), through the North Eastern Council (NEC) Secretariat in Shillong, has released the NEC Yearbook 2025, reaffirming its commitment to the comprehensive development of the North Eastern Region. Alongside the release, the NEC has sanctioned over ¹ 6.19 crore for various development projects in Manipur during May 2025.
The NEC Yearbook 2025, now in its second edition, presents a detailed overview of the socio-economic progress across the region. It compiles key data, initiatives, and policy measures, serving as a valuable resource for policymakers, researchers, academicians, and analysts. The publication aims to improve understanding and awareness of development efforts in the North East and is publicly accessible online at https://necouncil.gov.in/news-updates/nec-yearbook-2025.
In its latest funding release, the NEC reported a total disbursement of ¹ 6,19,49,507 for Manipur. The sanctioned amount includes ¹ 82.34 lakh for the construction of a Multi-Facility Centre at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University–Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU-RCM) in Kangpokpi district, ¹ 37.50 lakh for the implementation of an Integrated Farming System Model aimed at sustainable livelihood development, and ¹ 62.61 lakh for the development of backward communities in Zeme areas of Tousem Sub-Division, Tamenglong district. Additionally, ¹ 2 crore has been allocated for the construction of a Mini Stadium at Luangrang (Nungnang) in Noney district.
These projects are designed to address the unique developmental challenges faced by remote and underserved regions of Manipur, with a focus on infrastructure, agriculture, community upliftment, and youth development. The NEC’s continued interventions aim to bridge regional disparities and promote inclusive growth throughout the North Eastern states.
