The premiere show of the Manipuri feature film “Nungshi Khudol,” a production of Pibarel Film, was held at Tantha Lamphel and MSFDS (Manipur State Film Development Society) Auditorium, Konung Mamang.
At the premiere event at MSFDS, social worker Johnson Elangbam, actor and social worker RK Kaiku, Film Forum Manipur General Secretary Ronel Kangjam, and AMFIMPA President RK Chandrakumar attended as distinguished guests.
“Nungshi Khudol” is a film that highlights the life struggles of today’s youth in Manipuri society, focusing on their journey from adolescence to adulthood. It carries a powerful message about women’s empowerment and the pursuit of purpose in life. The story, screenplay, and dialogue are written by Narendra Ningomba, with Barun Elangbam serving as the producer.
The film is directed by Keypidas, featuring performances by Rebijita, Ratana, Naoba Mei, Jaljit, Narendra Ningomba, Lalitabi, Edhou, Marry, and Roji. Ragini and Premika handled the makeup, Bimol Taorem took charge of costumes and art direction, cinematography was done by Mohon Kangla, and editing was by Paree Khuman.
Speaking on the occasion, Johnson Elangbam expressed optimism about the film, stating that “Nungshi Khudol” meets international standards. He added that such initiatives inspire hope for the future of Manipuri cinema and encourage filmmakers and artists to aim for greater excellence.
Scriptwriter and actor Narendra Ningomba shared that the film was created with the intention of delivering a fresh and meaningful message to society, especially during a time when the state is facing multiple challenges. He emphasized that the film aims to empower women and inspire young people to move forward with confidence.
