Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today attended the inaugural function of State Krishi Mela, 2025 at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen, Place Compound. The exhibition is organised by the State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Manipur, and the Department of Agriculture.
Speaking at the event, Governor stated that agriculture is the backbone of our state, sustaining and driving our economic growth. He emphasized that the State Krishi Mela, 2025 serves as a platform for sharing innovations, knowledge, and awareness on various government schemes available for the enhancement of the agriculture sector.
Governor Bhalla also stated that over the years, significant progress has been made in the field of agriculture, with advancements in farming techniques, sustainability, and mechanisation. However, more efforts are needed to enhance productivity and efficiency, and the Central Agricultural University has a pivotal role in advancing agricultural research and development. The government continues to provide essential support in the form of seeds, guidance, subsidies, and financial assistance to farmers, he added.
During the event, Governor Bhalla interacted with participants from various districts and departments, and explored the various display of local products, agricultural equipment, and various farm-related items. Governor inquired about the showcased products, techniques, and advancements to understand their applications and benefits.
Also, Governor distributed various benefits to beneficiaries under different government schemes. Dr. Anupam Misha, Vice Chancellor, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal and Arun Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary (Agriculture) also attended the inaugural function.
