Imphal, July 20:

A one-day self-infusion training program was successfully conducted today at the Medicine Ward of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal. The event was organized by the Intas Foundation Imphal in collaboration with the Department of Medicine, JNIMS, and the Haemophilia Society Imphal Chapter.
The primary objective of the program was to empower hemophilia patients and their families with essential skills for self-infusion. Participants were trained in practical techniques for self-administering factor medications, which are crucial for managing bleeding episodes and ensuring timely treatment.
Experienced healthcare professionals guided the attendees through the step-by-step process of self-infusion. Participants gained confidence in handling butterfly needles, syringes, and other necessary supplies. The training emphasized important safety protocols, including proper vein identification, tourniquet application, and hygiene practices during infusion.
