Fifth session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly is scheduled from February 28 to March 5. There will be 5 sittings.
A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee, Manipur Legislative Assembly, was held today, at 1:00 p.m. in the Office Chamber of the Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly, to discuss the time allocation of the business of the House for the ensuing 5th Session of the Twelfth Manipur Legislative Assembly. Regarding the session, Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat released a provisional calendar of sittings for the 5th Session of the Twelfth Assembly, scheduled from February 28.
The session’s agenda encompassed diverse matters such as the Governor’s Address, the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address, Obituary References, if any, and the Presentation of the Business Advisory Committee Report. Additionally, activities included the Presentation of Supplementary Demands for Grants for the fiscal year 2023-24, the Presentation of Budget Estimates for 2024, and the Motion for Vote on Accounts for 2024-25. The schedule also featured sessions for Questions, General Discussions on Supplementary Demands for Grants, and Voting on both Supplementary Demands for Grants and the Motion for Vote on Accounts.
Further proceedings involved the Introduction and Consideration of Manipur Appropriation Bill(s), alongside the Presentation of Committee Reports and Government Bill(s). The calendar noted that no sittings were planned for Saturday and Sunday, March 2 and 3 2024, with activities resuming on Monday, March 4, 2024. The schedule concluded with additional sessions for Questions and Other Business on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
