Advocate Khaidem Mani threatens legal action

Advocate Khaidem Mani today threatened to take legal action against K. Saratchandra Sharma for terming his speech as unparliamentarily.
Addressing reporters at the office of All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) at Cheirap Court, Advocate Kh. Mani who is also the president of the association said that he would proceed legal action against the said person if not apologised within five days through media for his misleading statement appeared at newspapers regarding a word he had used during a press meet on the disqualification proceeding against MLA K Shyam at the Speakers’ Tribunal of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
K. Saratchandra Sharma had earlier said that he would urge the Speaker’s Tribunal for action against Advocate Mani for breach of privilege for using unparliamentary language.
During the press meet, Advocate Mani said that he had been in the legal profession for around 35 years and he had full understanding of what is parliamentary and what is not parliamentary.
