The Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF), the group that has been spearheading the Zo-Kuki communities to attack the Meitei community, said that the forum denounces the use of the word “Manipur” and adopt the use of “Kukiland” to refer to the Kuki dominated areas.
A statement by the ITLF released through social media said, “ITLF declares total separation from you know the state and in the light of total separation ITLF approves the use of the name Kukiland publicly on Social media and official media and official documents”.
The statement by Ginza Vaulzong further said that the ITLF wanted to wait till the central gives nod to the demand of the ITLF but as the violence has entered 69 days and as 69 is a very auspicious day the ITLF preponed the announcement.
