The present department of Forensic Medicine, Jawaharlal nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) Porompat, Imphal East has been declared as the Medico-Legal Centre by the government of Manipur. The centre will deal with all cases related to medico legal cases . It will have jurisdiction over Imphal East, Thoubal, Chandel, Tamenglong and Senapati district of Manipur. A government notification said that the centre will become functional with effect from 1st March, 2015.
