Imphal March 25: United Muslim Organisation has strongly condemn the 17 hour general strike called by student Body DESAm against the induction of MLA Ashab Uddin from Jiribam Assembly Constituency as Parliamentary Secretary by the N Biren led coalition government.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary Mohd. Matalip , it is stated that the MLA from Jiribam Assembly constituency AhabUddin has been a settler in the place since 1906 and the DESAM’s oppositions to the induction of the Muslim MLA to the Miniatry is nothing but an attempt to distort the unity and the integrity of the state.
The Muslim organisation appealed the peopl not to support the general strike called by DESAM.
On the other hand the Muslim bodyappealed DESAM to confine for development of education and to let free education as a free zone.
On the other hand, a body called Joint Non Government Voluntary Organisation has extended support to the general strike called by the DESAM against the induction of Ashab Uddin as Parliamentary Secretary.
In a statment the organisation said that Joint Non Government Voluntary Organisation Kakching and the Ima Keithel Lup of Kakching will fully support the 17 hours general strike called by DESAM
