Imphal, March 23: Heingang Awang Leikai Leikha Lampak murder case which proved to be an unfortunate mystery has been solved today. The deceased Sapam Ranjit Singh @ Amuba (25 yrs) S/O Sapam Iboyaima Singh of Heingang Awang Leikai presently residing at Achanbigei Mayai Leikai raped the15 year old daughter of Thoudam Romeo Singh of Achanbigei Leirak Achouba about one month back. Yesterday night at 9.22 pm, the minor rape victim called out the deceased with the help of her mother Tombinou and the deceased was taken away on an Activa by the rape victim’s maternal uncle namely Soram Sanjoy Singh and her boyfriend Akoijam Roshan Singh (25 years) of Khundrakpam and thrashed him to death using an iron rod. After that Roshan eloped with the daughter of Tombinou. At present, the girl, her mother, her uncle Sanjoy and her boyfriend Roshan are in custody. The investigation team of Imphal East comprises of Addl SP Ops IE, SDPO Porompat, DSP CDO Robinson, OC CDO, OC Heingang and OC WPS.
