On distribution of essential commodities

Sir,

Distribution of essential commodities (either from govt. or from private individuals) by volunteers in almost all localities poses a great risk in view of the highly contagious nature of Covid-19. So, the state government may be requested to devise a protocol to effectively distribute items to public without risk.
Suggestions:
1) At least 4-5 young volunteers from each registered Local club may be officially identified, given proper instruction, provided identity cards, and entrusted with home delivery services in the respective localities – for all kinds of essential items – from whoever donor or govt side. They should be made responsible for strict compliance of Social Distancing norms.
2) The elected local body (Panchayat or Municipal Corpn or ADCs) members may be entrusted to ensure that essential items meant for distribution reach the doorsteps of needy families, and the also to ensure that nobody gets out of home for availing such distributed items.
3) By involving the officially identified volunteers of Local Clubs and elected local body members, we can ensure strict compliance of Lockdown protocol. Otherwise, the scenario in each and every locality is not only chaotic and festive, but also highly risky.
