The Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma inaugurated a 3-Day Swachhta Student Camp today as part of its continued commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission organized by the committee of Swachhta Action Plan 2024-25.The event aims to engage students in hands-on activities promoting cleanliness, sustainability and environmental awareness. The inaugural program was attended by Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS in presence of Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital and Prof. Y. Govindaraj Singh, Nodal Officer SAP 2024-25.
Addressing on the gathering, G Sunil Kumar stressed the importance of instilling the values of cleanliness and hygiene among students, who play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future. He highlighted the institute’s proactive measures under the Swachhta Action Plan, underscoring the role of such initiatives in creating a healthier and cleaner society.
The camp will feature a variety of activities, including Cleanliness drives where students will actively participate in cleaning key areas within and around the RIMS campus. Workshops and Awareness Programs, where experts will conduct sessions on waste management, water conservation, and sustainable practices. Poster-making and essay-writing competitions will encourage students to creatively express their ideas on Swachhta.
The program was also attended by Deputy Director (Admn.), RIMS, Principal of College of Nursing & Dental College, RIMS, HODs, Nursing Officials and staff of RIMS, Imphal.
