SF conduct search operations across Manipur

Security forces in Manipur carried out extensive search operations and area domination exercises in the fringe and vulnerable areas of both hill and valley districts to maintain law and order.
According to police officials, security measures were also strengthened along National Highway-2 (NH-2) to ensure the safe passage of essential goods. A total of 337 vehicles carrying essential supplies were escorted under strict security, with security convoys deployed in sensitive stretches to prevent any disruptions.
Additionally, 110 Nakas and checkpoints were set up across various districts in the state to monitor movement and enhance vigilance. However, no individuals were detained for violations during the operations.
Authorities have assured that stringent security measures will continue to be in place to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the smooth movement of goods and people across the state.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested an extortionist belonging to the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) during a targeted operation in Imphal East district on February 15.
The accused, identified as 25-year-old Wangmayum Muktajuddin, also known as Amuba, was arrested from Khabeisoi Maning Leikai area under Heingang police station jurisdiction.
Police sources revealed that Muktajuddin was allegedly involved in a series of extortion activities targeting local residents, private businesses, and government officials in the region.
