Art of Living pitches in to upgrade ITI labs

In a move that will add significant value to the students of government ITIs, the Art of Living has completed the upgradation of Electrical and Solar training labs at the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) at Takyel and Phaknung. A combined ceremony was held yesterday at ITI Takyel to inaugurate the upgraded lab.  
Speaking on the occasion, H Dingo Singh, Minister for Social Welfare, Skills, Labour, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Govt of Manipur, lauded the initiative of the Art of Living and offered to explore the possibilities for further collaboration with the international NGO, founded by renowned spiritual guru and humanitarian Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar with a presence in 180 countries. 
Sri Sri Rural Development (SSRDP) Trust, the Rural & Skill development arm of the Art of Living, undertook the upgradation of the labs at two ITIs under its Centres of Excellence initiative in collaboration with its CSR partners. 
“Our objective is to upgrade the infrastructure of these institutes so that students get the right and up-to-date exposure to be able to compete in the job market,” explained Shri Laishram Dixon, the Program Coordinator of the Art of Living. “We also plan to provide the Art of Living’s globally acclaimed Capacity Building and Behavioural training to the students,” he added.  
“Two trainers from each ITIs have been provided advanced training by SSRDP free of cost at its labs in Bangalore,” said P. Robindro Singh, Joint Director, Joint Director Joint Director, Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Govt of Manipur.
