Kwakta, Feb 4:
To raise awareness about welfare schemes aimed at safeguarding and uplifting minority communities, the Manipur State Minority Commission, in collaboration with the Kwakta Khuman Awang Youth Development Club (KKADYC), organized an awareness program today at Kwakta Santhong Keithel.
The event was attended by Manipur State Minority Commission Chairman Md. Anwar Hussain, Secretary Md. Ajaouddin, Kwakta Gram Panchayat Pradhan Md. Habibur Rahman, KKADYC President Md. Islamuddin, and All Manipur Muslim Coordinating Committee Bishnupur District President Md. Kamaruddin, along with several distinguished guests and local representatives.
During the program, speakers addressed various misconceptions about minority communities and emphasized the importance of government welfare schemes in their development. They also highlighted the benefits available to minorities and the steps taken by the government to support them.
KKADYC Assistant Secretary Raju Khan pointed out that many people in Kwakta remain unaware of the welfare programs meant for them. He stressed the need for more initiatives to spread accurate information, as many are still unclear about Meitei Pangals being officially recognized as a minority community. He further emphasized that such awareness programs should be conducted regularly to ensure that eligible individuals can access and benefit from these schemes effectively.
