Imphal, May 15: The 73rd commemorative observation of the World War II will be organised in the state as well on May 20, 2017. The venues of the memorial function will be the twin war cemeteries in Imphal and Maibam Lotpa Ching in Bishnupur district.
It is being jointly organised by World War II Imphal Campaign Foundation and Tourism Forum, Manipur.
According to the organisers the objectives of the hosting the event will be the promotion of the sites as tourism spots and also to spread public awareness on the destruction caused by the majors wars in different places of the world.
According to sources, apart from local and national figures, the event will be attended by delegates from 18 nations including many dignitaries like the Japanese ambassador to India.
