Weaving cum embroidery training center inaugurated at Tera

Imphal, April 18,

Manipur State Women Development Corporation (MSWDC), Government of Manipur has inaugurated a weaving cum embroidery training center today at Tera Khamnam Leirak morning.
Speaking to mediapersons at the sideline of the inaugural function, Chairperson of MSWDC, S Satyabhama Devi said that the Corporation has started the training center for Imphal West district at Khamnam Leirak. Women of this district would get free training on weaving, embroidery and tailoring for 6 months. After the completion of the training, all the trainees would get a certificate along with a set of equipment so as to enable them to start their own enterprise.
Managing Director of MSWDC, Jacintha Lazarus (IAS), who is also the Director of Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur said that the training program is for the destitute women, who are not having any other source of income to maintain their family. This is a very beneficial program and during the course of the training all the trainees would be getting a monthly stipend also.
