Imphal, June 15:

The Handicapped Development Foundation (HD Foundation) is set to launch its “We Ring the Bell” campaign, an initiative by the Liliane Fonds, aimed at promoting educational opportunities for children with disabilities globally. This year, the campaign is supported by Jan Vikas Samiti, Varanasi, and the Liliane Foundation, Netherlands.
Running from 15th June to 25th June 2024, the campaign is titled “We Ring the Bell to School, Including Children with Disabilities.” It focuses on ensuring all children are welcomed into schools, emphasizing the importance of Accessibility, Acceptance, and Adaptation (the 3As). The campaign seeks to address the challenges that prevent children with disabilities from attending school and to advocate for their inclusion in the education system.
The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, 15th June 2024, at 10:00 AM at Model Primary School, Sagolband Lukram Leirak, Imphal West. Media outlets are invited to cover the event to help raise awareness about the campaign and its objectives.
Laishram Nganthoi Devi, Media & Communication Officer at HD Foundation, highlighted the importance of media involvement in the campaign. “Your presence is crucial to amplify the message of inclusive education and to bring attention to the educational needs of children with disabilities,” said Nganthoi.
