In a shocking incident, popular Manipuri vlogger RK Ichanthoibi was intimidated by five unidentified individuals, consisting of three males and two females, who arrived in a white Fortuner vehicle with police stickers but no registration number. The confrontation occurred around 8 PM while she was live-streaming on Facebook from her shop.
Speaking at the Manipur Press Club, RK Ichanthoibi recounted the harrowing experience, stating that she initially mistook the group for customers. However, the situation escalated when one of the intruders brandished a pistol and demanded she stop her live broadcast. Despite her initial resistance, the assailants forcibly snatched her mobile phone and fled the scene as she called for help.
An elderly woman with her one-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old girl were also present during the incident. RK Ichanthoibi has since lodged a complaint with the Imphal West police regarding the intimidation and theft. She urged the perpetrators to return her mobile phone, highlighting that it contained valuable videos and photos documenting the ongoing conflict in Manipur, which could serve as crucial evidence for safeguarding the state’s interests.
