Imphal, Dec 21: UNC should withdraw economic blockade, but engage with government of Manipur like a mature cso, without making suffer the innocent general public of both hill and valley- stated a press release of Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) today. Reiterating the fact that the different communities have been living together from time immemorial as good and proud citizens of Manipur, the release raised concern on the deteriorating relationship cherished and shared together from our fore-fathers due to the selfish games that has been played amongst the public to live separately. Terming the attempts of vested interests to breed enmity amongst the various communities as a venom that is threatening to turn the harmony and peaceful coexistence the people have enjoyed for so long, the statement blames the leaders for the present unrest and volatile social situation. The release further appeal to all the leaders that it is a high time to reconcile for peaceful co-existence and to stop fooling themselves and the people of the state irrespective of caste and creed. The economic blockade called by the UNC in Naga inhabited areas has forced to bear a counter economic blockade in the valley and none of the groups will achieve good result except tears and bloods of our own, yet increase a more gap of misunderstanding among the hills and valley, the release asserted, saying that it is not too late to rectify the error of UNC economic blockade. Appealing to all the leaders and general public of the valley that it will be wrong to view all the Naga people as the agent/henchmen of UNC/NSCN(IM), the statement declares that there are a lot of Naga people who are against and do not support the ongoing indefinite economic blockade and NSCN’s(IM) ideology of integration.
UNC should withdraw economic blockade; act like a mature CSO: MNRF
