Thoubal,April.28: Two Days Training Programme on Rational Use of Blood and Blood Products kicks- off today at the Conference Hall of District Hospital Thoubal.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. N. Jayantakumar Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Thoubal in the presence of Dr. N. Hemantakumar Singh, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr. Arke, Sr. Specialist(Medicine) District Hospital Thoubal, Dr. Geetchandra Okram, MD, Transfusion Medicine, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Transfusion Medicine, JNIMS, Imphal and Ch. Basanta Singh, Distriçt Programme Manager, District Health Society, Thoubal.
The programme is being organised by Blood Bank and Transfusion Unit, District Hospital Thoubal with the support of District Health Society, Thoubal and Bloof Cell, National Health Mission, Govt. Of Manipur.
Various resource persons delivered talked on different topics through powerpoint presentation viz.
Dr. Doendro Loitongbam, Specialist, (Transfusion Medicine), District Hospital Thoubal delivered talked on ‘Rational use of blood and blood products, Dr. Kh. Memtonbi, MD(Transfusion Medicine) Senior Resident, Dept. Of Transfusion Medicine, JNIMS, Imphal delivered on ‘Massive Transfusion and its Management’, Dr. Vijayanta Ksh. MD(Transfusion Medicine) District Hospital , Churachandpur delivered talks on Transfusion Reactions and its Management’, and Dr. Geetchandra Okram, MD, (Transfusion Medicine) Asst. Prof. Dept. Of Transfusion Medicine, JNIMS, delivered talks on ‘ Component Therapy and its importance’.
Altogether 60 Medical Officers from different Health Institutions from Thoubal, Kakching and Chandel districts are participating in the training programme.
