Imphal, Oct 6:

The Managing Committee of Tombisana High School has urged the Manipur government to revive the historic school in the interest of preserving the state’s educational heritage. Speaking to reporters, a committee member expressed concern over previous government attempts to construct a market at the school’s location, deeming it inappropriate.
The committee emphasized that they still hold the Patta (land ownership document) for the school and continue to pay taxes on the property annually. The member stressed the historical significance of Tombisana High School and called for its preservation as an important part of Manipur’s educational and cultural legacy.
The committee is appealing for immediate government action to protect the site and ensure its restoration, underscoring the importance of maintaining the school as a symbol of learning and history in the state.
