Ukhrul, June 7:

In a landmark moment for the Tangkhul community, the much-anticipated Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) Office-cum-Multicomplex, which also houses a Livelihood Incubation Centre, was officially inaugurated on Friday at Wino Bazaar in the heart of Ukhrul town. The imposing structure, one of the largest in the district, stands as a new symbol of unity, vision, and community-driven development.
The dedication ceremony was graced by Rev. Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak, Principal Emeritus and Founder of Patkai Christian College, Nagaland, and Patkai Christian Academy, Manipur, who unveiled the building and led the dedication prayer, giving glory to God for the successful completion of the project.
TNL President Qr. Sword Vashum, in his welcome address, expressed profound gratitude to God for turning the long-cherished dream into reality. He stated that the Multicomplex is more than a mere building—it is a Livelihood Incubation Centre envisioned to serve the entire Tangkhul region, empowering youth and entrepreneurs through skill-based development.
He acknowledged the instrumental role played by Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah, who, during his tenure as Secretary of the North Eastern Council (NEC), laid the foundation for this visionary project. Vashum also extended heartfelt thanks to the Ukhrul-Hunphun Chief/headman and the village authority for generously excepting the complex Inauguration for the greater good of the community.
Former TNL President V. Weapon Zimik, recalling the project’s journey, paid tribute to the late Qr. Shangyang Shaiza, whose foresight and leadership helped shape TNL’s legacy. “Where TNL stands today is largely because of his vision, which we must never forget,” Zimik said. He also shared how the project proposal was initiated during his tenure and was warmly received by the then NEC Secretary Ram Muivah, who embraced the vision with passion and commitment.
The historic event was witnessed by an impressive gathering, including former Presidents of TNL, leaders of affiliated Tangkhul bodies such as TNAL, TKS, TMNL, TSL, Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang, Ato Longphang, Zingsho Longphang, and Zingtun Longphang. Also present were the Hunphun/Ukhrul Chief and village authority members, special contractor Mingyao Ruivanao, and many well-wishers.
The Tangkhul Naga Long Office-cum-Multicomplex now stands tall as a testimony of faith, collective effort, and a renewed commitment to the socio-economic upliftment of the Tangkhul community—for now and generations to come.
