Tension erupts in Sora after social worker caught in immoral act, office vandalized

Tension erupted in Sora, Kakching district, yesterday evening after a social worker was caught red-handed engaging in immoral activities with a tribal woman inside a makeshift hut in a paddy field.
Reports stated that around 9 PM, a large crowd vandalized the office of the social worker. To control the situation, police rushed to the scene and fired rounds of tear gas to disperse the mob.
In the aftermath of the incident, the entrance and belongings inside the office were damaged. To bring the situation under control, two Additional SPs of Kakching district police arrived at the site.
At around 9:35 PM, the police fired about ten rounds of tear gas to disperse the agitated crowd. It was reported that the people eventually retreated. Meanwhile, one person sustained injuries from the tear gas and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
