The Television and Cine Foundation, Manipur (TC Foundation Manipur), elected its new executive committee during the General Body Meeting held on Sunday at the Preview Theatre of the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Compound, Imphal.
Renowned filmmaker Haobam Paban Kumar was elected as the new President, following the formal dissolution of the previous executive body by outgoing President Bobby Wahengbam. The election process was overseen by Khangembam Kulshor, who served as the returning officer.
Joining the new executive team, Romi Meitei has been named Vice President, while Borun Thokchom will serve as the General Secretary. Sonia Nepram and Tushar Nongthombam have been appointed as Joint Secretaries, and Aribam Bishwajit takes on the role of Treasurer.
The foundation also announced the appointment of Ashok Veilou, Manas Maisnam, Ksh Meghachandra, Sandeep Soubam, and Jhosmine Nambam as executive members. Additionally, Khangembam Kuleshwor and Doren Loitongbam have been selected as advisors, with two more advisors to be nominated by the newly elected office bearers.
TC Foundation Manipur has played a significant role in nurturing emerging filmmakers and fostering a culture of meaningful, quality cinema in the region. Through regular film screenings by directors from across the country, often followed by interactive Q&A sessions held both online and offline, the foundation creates platforms for cinematic dialogue and critical engagement. It also supports works in progress by offering constructive feedback and collaborative discussions aimed at enhancing storytelling and artistic expression. With its new leadership, the foundation is expected to build on its legacy and continue championing independent and intellectually driven cinema in Manipur.
