The Students’ Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has appealed to traders and shopkeepers across the State to refrain from overpricing goods during the Ningol Chakkouba festival and to ensure fair trading practices for the convenience of the public.
Speaking to media persons, Kerisham Opheliya Devi, Women’s Welfare Secretary of SUK, extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur, particularly to all women, on the auspicious occasion of Ningol Chakkouba — a festival that celebrates the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.
She urged traders to clearly display price lists in front of their shops to maintain transparency and prevent exploitation of customers during the festive season.
Kerisham Opheliya Devi also appealed to the public to cooperate with the various activities and awareness campaigns organized by the six student bodies in connection with the festival.
Extending heartfelt wishes for peace, happiness, and prosperity, she expressed hope that Ningol Chakkouba would further promote love, unity, and social harmony among all communities in the State.
