Imphal, May 8:

The Social United Club (SUC), Keibung, along with the Meira Paibis of Keibung Oinam Leikai, has strongly condemned the detention of SUC President Sanabam Ratan Singh.
A joint press release by SUC, and Meira Paibi of Keibung Oinam Leikai stated that Ratan Singh had been actively engaged in voluntary humanitarian efforts following the outbreak of the May 3, 2023 crisis. “As the president of SUC, he played a key role in distributing essential supplies to Village Volunteers stationed at the foothills. It is unjust to label such voluntary support as illegal,” the release stated.
The press note also clarified that Ratan Singh’s contact number had been shared with Village Volunteers to facilitate communication for further needs and assistance.
The SUC and Meira Paibis have appealed to the authorities for the unconditional release of Sanabam Ratan Singh.
