Students’ protestors throng Raj Bhavan

Imphal, July19: A protest rally by students took out today demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in the state ahead of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Budget Session took. Students from various schools and colleges chanting slogans marched from Keisampat Leimajam Leikai towards Raj Bhavan. Students protestors gathered in front of the Raj Bhavan were also joined by students of TG School and GP College in the protest rally demanding a law to prevent non-locals from contesting elections and to stop playing election politics on population inflkux. Though Imphal West Police personnel tried to control the protestors, the students continued to shout the slogans in front of Raj Bhavan. Later , four representatives from the students’ protestors were allowed to meet the governor at Raj Bhavan and a memorandum was also submitted. The protest rally was organised by Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA)
