A special outreach program aimed at creating awareness about “Viksit Bharat – 2047,” the vision for a developed India, was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in Purum Tampak Village, Chandel district.
The event saw active participation from key individuals, including Shri Makan Kanwar Chothe, VLW of TD Chandel Block; Y. Brojen Chothe, Chairman of Purum Tampak Village; PR Washington, Village Secretary; and Smt. PR Singha Chothe, an Anganwadi Worker under ICDS. Their collective involvement underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in spreading awareness and engaging rural communities in developmental initiatives.
Mathew SK Bengam, Field Publicity Assistant (FPA) of CBC, Field Office Chandel, explained the significance of “Viksit Bharat” as part of India’s vision to become a fully developed nation by 2047. He outlined the roadmap, which emphasizes youth empowerment, poverty alleviation, women’s development, and farmer support as key pillars of this mission.
Smt. PR Singh, representing ICDS, highlighted the importance of maternal and child health programs and urged women to utilize ICDS services, including child nutrition, pre-school education, non-formal education, immunization, health check-ups, and referral services.
In his address, Village Chairman Y. Brojen Chothe expressed gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the need for greater cooperation between the state and central governments to advance rural development. He called for community participation to ensure holistic progress and the well-being of all.
VLW Makan Kanwar Chothe spoke about central government welfare schemes like Direct Benefit Transfer, Garib Kalyan, Desh Ka Kalyan, MGNREGA, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He encouraged residents to take advantage of these initiatives, stressing the role of responsible citizenship in building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
The program also included a spot quiz contest, which engaged the participants and rewarded winners, adding an interactive and educational component to the event.
