SPDPO extents support to the demand of Heikakpokpi blind school

Imphal, July 5: State Platform of Disable People’s Organisation (SPDPO), Manipur, an apex body of disable peoples’ organisation from all the district of Manipur has extended its support to the ongoing agitation by the Students’ Union o the Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi. In a press statement, the apex body said that the demand for recognition of the school to a full fledged one is reasonable as well as it is the responsibility of the government to look into the grievances of the school. The apex body also vehemently condemn the govt. over its lack of attention towards the visually impaired students who have been on indefinite hunger strike since June 23 this year.
While appealing the government to take immediate necessary action to provide support to the students, the apex body also appealed the civil society body of the state to support the cause of the visually impaired students.
