SAIRAM felicitates newly appointed VCs

The South Asian Institute of Rural and Agricultural Management (SAIRAM), Langjing Achouba, Imphal, held a felicitation ceremony on May 31, 2025, to honour two of its board members on their appointment as Vice-Chancellors.
Prof. P. Kumar Singh, appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Manipur International University, and Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, the new Vice-Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, were felicitated during the event. Both have contributed significantly to SAIRAM’s academic vision and governance.
The ceremony, held at the SAIRAM campus, featured a traditional presentation of Lengyan and was presided over by Dr. R.K. Nimai Singh, Retired IAS and Chairman of SAIRAM. Prof. P. Kumar Singh attended as Chief Guest, while Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh was the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries included Prof. Ph. Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education at Central Agricultural University, and Prof. H.S. Shekhar Sharma, Director of SAIRAM.
Prof. Sharma expressed pride in the achievements of both Vice-Chancellors, calling their appointments a milestone for the institute.
As part of the event, SAIRAM also released newly developed study materials for B.Sc. (Agriculture) First Year students, aimed at enhancing foundational understanding in agricultural sciences.
