Imphal, Aug. 30: Security measures have been tightened in Tamenglong district ahead of the Union Home Minister of State, Kiran Rijiju visit to attend programme in memory of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinlui scheduled to hold tomorrow at Nungkao Village.
Source said an advance team comprising of officials from Union Home Ministry has arrived here in Imphal today to take stock of the situation.
According to a source, the Union Minister is expected to be accompanied by the Additional Private Secretary to Mos(Home), Sonam Gechem Agola. He is expected to arrive Imphal airport at around 9.10 am tomorrow by a special flight of BSF.
From Imphal Tulihal Airport he is expected to fly upto Helipad of 23 AR at Kaimai by Helicopter. From Kaimai he will further proceed to the function site at Nungkao Village by land route and attend the schedule function. After attending the function, the Minister is expected to reach Imphal Airport around 2.20pm by the same Helicopter from Kamai.
After having lunch at the Airport, the Minister is expected to leave Imphal at around 3.30pm for Delhi by the special BSF flight. Before leaving Imphal, the Union Minister for State Rijiju will meet state BJP leaders to discuss the prevailing law and order condition of the state.
