Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal organises SVEEP

A one day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised at Patsoi Part 1, Imphal West District by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India yesterday. L. Shyamji Singh, President of local club Patsoi Part 1 presided the event.
Dr. Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, Head of Office, Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India explained on Informed Choice and Ethical Voting to the audience which consist mainly of new and first time voters.
Speaking as a resource person, Samson, SDO, Patsoi, explained on inclusive and accessible election, Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT). He also explained the importance of every single vote which will elect MLAs, who in turn will be a part which will elect the president of India.
A quiz contest was held and prizes along with certificates were distributed. Private Registered Troupes(PRTs) of ROB, Imphal, Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association performed Thang-Ta show while M/s United Artist Association performed a drama – Meehutkhanba (Election).
