Armed rebel groups suspected to be cadres of PLA attacked an Assam Rifles post in Chandel district of Manipur on Wednesday. There was no report of any casualty according to police sources .
The rebels attacked the Assam Rifles post located at Aigijang village near Sajit Tampak Wednesday morning. Security forces retaliated and there was exchange of fire for a few minutes but the rebels managed to escape through the thick jungle.
Following the attack more security forces have been reinforce to the spot and search operations was launched in and around the area.
