The proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has claimed responsibility to the cto the attack at Assam Rifles at a place between Narum and Saibol villages in Tengnoupal district yesterday morning.
A statement by Bangkim, Assistant Secretary, Publicity of the RPF said that a special team of its armed wing – People’s Liberation Army (PLA) carried out attack on the paramilitary troopers on Thursday.
The RPF statement said that the attack was carried out at about 8am at a place between Narum and Saibol villages in Tengnoupal district located around 20km from Moreh. The outfit also claim that some AR soldiers were injured in the attack. It said that the special team of PLA was on a mission to inspect Moreh which witnessed widespread violence due to India’s divisive policy though all the communities inhabiting in the border town lived in peace and harmony before May 3, 2023.
It also said that the special PLA team encountered AR troopers on the way and accordingly engaged in fire-fight.
Moreh town is now completely surrounded by Indian forces and the Key Location Point (KLP) being developed at the border town with modern technologies have cemented Indian occupation, the RPF statement said adding that Indian forces are siding with a particular community inhabiting in the town to divide two communities instead of maintaining peace and harmony.
While asserting that creating division among different communities has been a tool utilised by India to strengthen its occupation, the RPF said it is the responsibility of the outfit and its armed wing PLA to fight against India’s divisive tactics and restore peace and harmony among different communities of Manipur.
