Razia Sultana honored with Prestigious International Award for Contributions to Pangal Society

In a momentous event celebrating excellence in social service Razia Sultana, the General Secretary of the All Jiribam Pangal Women Welfare Association, has been conferred the esteemed Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam International Award – 2025 by the Dalit Sahitya Academy, Nepal. This accolade recognizes her significant efforts in uplifting the Pangal community in Jiribam District.
The award ceremony took place during the 15th Asian Dalit Sahitya Conference – 2025, held on February 25 at the Nepal Pragya Pratisthan in Kathmandu. The event brought together distinguished scholars, writers, and activists from across Asia, all dedicated to advancing literature and social justice for marginalized communities.
Sultana’s contributions to the Pangal society have been multifaceted, focusing on empowerment through education, social awareness, and cultural preservation. Her tireless advocacy has not only improved the lives of many women in her community but has also inspired a new generation to strive for equality and justice.
Upon her return to Jiribam today, Razia Sultana was warmly welcomed by members of the All Jiribam Pangal Women Welfare Association. The occasion was marked by heartfelt celebrations, with attendees presenting her with garlands and flowers in a show of appreciation for her remarkable achievements.
