Ratha Yatra preparations underway with participation from 27 religious and cultural groups

Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming Ratha Yatra festival, one of the most revered events in the Hindu calendar, with 27 religious and cultural groups, including representatives from Sana Konung (Royal Palace), set to participate. The announcement was made by Phurailakpam Jaidev Sharma, spokesperson of the Bhrama Sabha Dharma Chakrabarti Ratana.
Addressing a gathering at the Sana Konung Gate in Palace Compound, Jaidev Sharma stated that the traditional Kang Chingba (chariot pulling) will also take place from the Royal Palace this year. He highlighted that despite the physical absence of Shree Jagannath at the palace, the divine presence encompasses the entire world, and all beings are His devotees.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the festival, various traditional groups, including kanglup phurups, have convened coordination meetings. Officials have confirmed that all necessary arrangements are being finalized to carry out the chariot pulling ceremony in a peaceful and organized manner.
The chariot procession will commence from the Shree Shree Govindaji Temple, located in front of the palace, at precisely 8:00 AM on June 27. The event is expected to draw large crowds as devotees prepare to celebrate with devotion and spiritual fervor.
