The first edition of Ram Muivah Entrepreneur Award cum Advent Christmas was observed at Vangayan, Shirui Lily heritage venue on Tuesday.
The event and Award distribution program was organised by Ram Muivah and his Mission Ukhrul team.
During the first programme of its kind, 8 ( eight) best entrepreneurs from all over Ukhrul Assembly constituency irrespective of political affiliations were awarded certificates and a cash award of rupees 30,000 (Thirty thousand). This year awardees were selected from among 57 entrepreneurs who applied for the first Ram Muivah Entrepreneur Award 2023.
The awards were given in various categories including, Honey Mission (Best Beekeeping Award) to Ningon Bee Farm (Mr. Ningon Longpinao), Mushroom Mission (Best Mushroom Farming) to JR Woleng Enterprise (Mr. Jonah Woleng), High Value Fruit Farming Mission award to Reisangpemmi Kasomwosh and Most Innovative Entrepreneur Award goes to Pamreishang Chiphan, Piggery Mission award to Hills Piggery Farm of Mrs. Mimi Y Horam, Poultry Mission award to Ngashanpam KSV (Nana Poultry Farm), Fishery Mission award to Ahom Fishery Mission (Homhor Zimik) and Integrated Farming award to (Ramthing Jagoi)
While interacting with the media on the venue Qr. Ram Muivah MLA 44/Ukl AC said Entrepreneurship is key to social transformation and bringing economic development to the society, so my objective of starting the Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Award for youths of Ukhrul district is to encourage and support while venturing into business. For a successful entrepreneur, the sky is the limit, and through them, employment is generated richly boosting the local economy, Ram added.
The new Award initiative will continue as part of financial support and encouragement for the young Tangkhul entrepreneur. Stating the ground reality, Ram said Tangkhul youths are one of the most educated tribes of Manipur, but lack of support and encouragement to venture into business has failed many in entrepreneurial ventures. He is positive that Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Awards will definitely boast and change our youth mindset toward more enterprising.
Perhaps this timely encouragement is the need of the hour to address the current economic conditions and bring further development, Ram expressed.
The winners, Ram Muivah said were selected based on merit after spot inspection of their farms. Altogether 57 candidates registered for the Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Awards-2023. Together with the Award ceremony, the day saw a celebration of Advent Christmas with a special musical show. He felt that the event is a platform for him to spread his Christmas greeting and gratitude to his people, well-wishers, and supporters who have been with him through thick and thin.
