RAB charge baton on Chhatra Union activists, picks up Imran

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday dispersed activists of Ganajagaran Mancha & Chhatra Union, back by left political parties in the capital of Bangladesh charging baton as they went out on demonstrations against ‘indiscriminate murders’ of unarmed people without any judicial process in the name of ‘gunfights’ at Shahbagh.
The convener of the platform Imran H Sarkar and two others were also whisked onto in a white microbus carrying sticker of Rapid Action Battalion and taken to unknown destination.
A number of  Chhatra Union (BSU) activists were also injured police baton charge.
The Ganajagaran Mancha and Bangladesh Chhatra Union had called human chain programmes  against ‘indiscriminate murders’ of unarmed people without any judicial process.
RAB official Emranul said Imran was detained because he was causing nuisance on the street by holding a public meeting illegally.
Earlier on Sunday, police foiled Gonojagoron Mancha’s protest programme against the ongoing spree of gunfights that left at least 133 people dead in the last 21 days.
