Public hearing for Imphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong Road concludes

Imphal, April 15: Public Hearing for Land Acquisition for Construction of Imphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong Road conducted by the Social Impact Assessment Unit, Directorate of Environment Government of Manipur concluded at Shamusang Community Hall, Imphal today.
Herojit Ngangomba, Corporator IMC Ward no. 27, B.B. Sharma Member SIA Unit, Md. Abdul Salam Retd Deputy Settlement Officer Revenue Dept., Prof Y. Mohendro Renown Economist, Dr T. Brajakumar Incharge SIA Unit, N. Khaba President Laksh Pioneer Committee, A Ibotombi singh President The Briliance Club and Th. Alexander Singh Executive Member Laksh Peioneer Committee graced the function as presidium Members. Dr T. Brajakumar Singh briefed about the Social Impact Assessment on Acquisition of land of the proposed Imphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong Road Construction.
Affected land owner of Lalambung and Iroisemba raised their concern on the proposed road construction including, loss of common property resources and Practice of accountability and transparency by the authority concerned. They also urged to make sure on timely clearance  of compensation.
It may be mentioned that the Public Hearing has been conducted by the State Social Impact Assessment Unit, Directorate of Environment starting from 10 April at different location to seek the feedback of affected persons for finalization of the Social Impact Assessment Report and Social Impact Management Plan. The conducted locations are Lamdeng Khunou Community Hall, Cultural Hall Phayeng, Lairenkabi Dramatic Hall and Samushang Community Hall.
