Imphal, Oct 19: Locals of Tangkhul Avenue of Chingmeirong staged a sit in protest in front of Kuman Lampak ISBT against the grenade attack at the residence of Clemant Singlei (68) on 17/10/2016 at 6.45 pm by unidentified persons at which 3 women including a minor girl were seriously injured.
The sit in protest was jointly organized by Women Action for Development, Women Welfare, Rongmee Lu Phuam, Tangkhul Shinaolong, Tangkhul Avenue Village Authority and Meira Paibi.
Speaking to the media person, president of Meira paibi Leishiwon Keishing said that the locals of and CSO strongly condemn the bomb attack at the public place in which 3 women including a minor were seriously injured.
She said that most of residents of the area are facing financially problem and backward people. The injured people were belonged to poor family. They were coming from interior hill district to make a lliving and also to study by staying at rented houses. One woman was discharged while the remaining two is in ICU. She further asked who is going to help for their medical fees as their poor family can’t able to provide.
She further appeals to the arm group not to repeat such incident to the local area.
