Protest staged across Kakching district condemning alleged policy to obliterate Manipur

As part of a statewide protest condemning the actions of the 4th Maha Regiment towards a Manipur State Transport bus carrying media personnel to the 5th Shirui Lily Festival, CARD Wabagai organized a sit-in protest at Wabagai Keithel Macha
The sit-in-protest displayed placards reading “Condemn India’s policy to obliterate Manipur”, “Manipur Muthatpa Yaroi”, “Ereipaak Asigi Eikhoi Mapuni” etc.
Also, as part of a coordinated state-wide movement led by AMUCO, POIREI LEIMAROL, AMAWOVA, COHR, and MSF, multiple protest were organized across Kakching district. The rallies were aimed at condemning what the organizers described as “India’s policy to obliterate Manipur.”
The events were carried out under the aegis of the Kakching District United Clubs’ Organisation (KADUCO) by its unit organizations — SEDO Hiyanglam, AKUCO Kakching Khunou, ESUCO KORSANTABI, and LATUCO Lamjao of Tangjeng Khunou. Each group led a torch rally in their respective localities, raising slogans such as “Condemn India’s Policy to Obliterate Manipur” and “Manipur Must Live.”
Organizers stated that the rallies were a demonstration of unity and resistance against ongoing political and social challenges faced by the state. They reiterated the need for collective vigilance and sustained civil movements to safeguard Manipur’s identity and integrity.
The rallies concluded peacefully, drawing participation from residents, club members, and civil society representatives.
