PREPAK and Red Army mourn death of KYKL cadre

The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and its armed wing, the Red Army (RA), have expressed condolences over the death of Moirangthem Nanao @ Ngamba (35), a member of the Meeyamgi Yawol Laanmee (MYL), the armed wing of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL).
In a statement issued by Mangal Khuman, Publicity Officer of PREPAK’s Department of Publicity and Propaganda, it was stated that Private Moirangthem Nanao was killed during an encounter with a combined team of security forces and their proxy force, the Kuki National Army (KNA-B), near the Indo-Myanmar border on May 18.
The statement alleged that the incident further exposed what it termed as India’s ongoing proxy war aimed at eradicating the indigenous population of Kangleipak (Manipur). Referring to the recent detention of a Manipur State Transport (MST) bus at Gwaltabi in the Yaingangpokpi area.
PREPAK called the act an open move towards Balkanizing Kangleipak and urged the people to unite in resisting such efforts.
Extending its solidarity, the group expressed deep sorrow and shared its grief with the family and relatives of the deceased KYKL/MYL cadre. It also reaffirmed its commitment to the armed resistance against what it described as “occupational forces.
