“Politics divides people but culture unites people”-Dr. M Nara singh

Imphal, Oct 12: Ningol Chakouba was celebrated at Alva’s Education Foundation held at the Auditorium Hall of the Engineering College by the Manipuri students of the very college. It has been celebrated since the last 5 years. This very festival initiated with a few numbers of students before 5 years but it has becomes bigger and bigger in course of time and now, it has extended to the Non-Manipuris too.
The festival started with a formal programme at 10:30 A.M. initiated with a welcome speech from Mr.Vivek Alva, the managing trustee of ALVA’S EDUCATION FOUNDATION followed by innovative speech from the Chief Guest, Dr. M Nara Singh. It was proceeded by prize distribution in the various fields of education, sports, cultural and traditional achievements in the national and international level. The programmes was followed by the cultural shows like maibi dance, dhol cholom, stick dance, dasa avatar and kabui dance. A grand Traditional Feast succeeded the programme. DAKSHINA, the gift from the brothers to sisters followed the feast. A short documentary films of Aribam Syam Sharma was shown followed by the Manipur featured film “NANGNA KAPPA PAKCHADE” written by Maharaj Kumari Binodini. Approximately around 400 individuals gathered to participate the auspicious festival.
The spirit of NINGOL CHAKOUBA was really moated and we hope that this concept will be expanded gradually to a new height.
