The Child Welfare Committee, Kakching District in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit, Kakching launched the “One Child One Plant” campaign along with a Children’s Meet at Kakching Garden today.
The event was graced by Keisham Pradipkumar, Chairperson of the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights, as the Chief Guest. Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, Rohit Anand, attended the programme as the President. Naorem Kumari, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, Kakching, and Gajoo Rajkumari, District Child Protection Officer, Kakching, attended as Guests of Honour.
During the programme, certificates were presented to winners of a painting competition held on June 5 under the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution.” The competition saw participation from children residing in various children’s homes across the district. Also, students from children’s homes who recently cleared the Class X examination were felicitated with gifts and certificates in recognition of their achievements.
