Officials siphon off 990 rice bags

Lamka, July 23: Six thousand nine hundred and ninety bags of rice which was mean for Aganwadi centres in Churachandpu district have been missing between Social Welfare Head office godown to Churachandpur office.
An officials from  Social Welfare office, Churachandpur who did not like to mention his name informed that the district allocation of rice are 8,000 bags, out of which one thousand and ten bags of rice bags have been received by the department, and distribute one bag each to the centres.
Drawing the attention of the concern authority to look into the matter, he decried that where are the other bags of rice?
It is worth to mention here that, in Churachandpur district children often face emergency food and nutrition crisis when they are always dumped in Anganwadi centres following such bags of rice are missing.
The man power and resources of Anganwadi centres in the district can’t be utilized in a more significant way.
