Normal lives affected in Noney District by heavy rainfalls

Due to incessant rains for the last 3 days, normal lives badly affected in Noney District. Heavy rainfall triggers landslides/mudslides in many locations along NH-37 (Imphal -Jiribam Road). Electric lines were cut off that hampers to the general public.
A massive landslides occured in between Awangkhul and Langkhong village under Noney Police station along NH-37 that leads to disruption of vehicular movement. Many vehicles were stranded in both sides of the road waiting for the clearance of the debris. And yet on the other side, landslides occured in between Sehjang and sinam village under Kangpokpi district along NH-37. The road construction company (Ganpati Company) is rendering their best efforts to clear off the debris by using excavators however its hampering the work progress due to continue rainfalls that trigger mudslides. Meanwhile, horticulture farms were extensively damaged by the strong wind that hits last night in Tazeikaiphun village and its peripheral area under Nungba Sub- Division of Noney District.
Some houses were also damaged and blown out by the storms. The water volume of Ijei, Iril,Irang and Leimatak were increases and flowing in the danger marks. Meanwhile the District Administration had already issued an advisory to the general public not to venture out so as to avoid any untoward incidents.
